We went to Karesuando in Finland on the border with Sweden and flew into a tiny airport called Enontekiö, it was amazing, far less commercial than some of the other trips we’ve done. We’ve been twice now and it was magical both times. Sandy, reindeer sleigh rides, snow mobiles, husky dogs, etc. and plenty of free time for sledging and exploring. Transun was the tour operator. Definitely worth a look.

Think we are set on levi or Saariselka as booking package with santaclaus trips. Still cant decide. Has anyone booked with them before to these places.

Thanks

We did saariselka a few years back and loved it. We went with santas lapland.

Not been to Levi but Saariselka was great - we went with Santa’s Lapland

We’ve been to both. Saariselka with TUI, then Levi a few years later with Ingram’s. Both really great trips. Levi is bigger. But at a push I probably preferred Saariselka as it felt more remote. There is a great sledging hill there which the kids loved. The Santa part was really well done too.

Levi probably better if you want to try skiing and there is a beautiful little cafe tucked away down some really nice snowy path up on the fell. We stayed in a nicer hotel there with pools and a spa. Also paid for an additional husky safari (arranged locally) which was amazing.

Can’t really go wrong with either.

Thank you. Which hotels did you stay at in Saariselka? Where they ok? @Pippa99999 @BeautifulTulips @boatgirl81

We stayed at the holiday club but in the apartments, we had a 3 bed apartment with a balcony and a sauna, that was lovely as there were 5 of us. You then ate at the hotel and could use the pool and other facilities, which was a 2 minute walk away.

My DD worked the Christmas season in Saariselka for Northern Lights she worked as an elf on the search for Santa. She also got to try all the activities in the local area, she learnt to ski and she loved it there. It looks stunningly beautiful and the northern lights got a bit boring seeing them around 3 times a week.
Her Favourite activities were the snowmobile safari and the reindeer sledging.

I got married in kakslauttenan after a lot of research it ticked all our boxes. Cabin for a week and igloo for one night. Three nights in Helsinki to warm up on the way home
