Where to do a villa holiday?

Looking for next year, we’ve decided we want to do a villa holiday in August, one week, 4 of us (2 teens). Total budget £6000 (but the less we can spend of that the better).

Ive been looking at Tenerife, Sardinia, Rhodes and some in Spain but am up for anywhere! Basically want a whole villa with pool, walking distance to beach, we’d like to be close to things to walk to (I don’t want to cook) but we’ll hire a car. Bonus points for fun things in the area we can drive to like water parks, historic sites etc.

Can anyone help me narrow down this massive search? Have you had a lovely villa holiday you recommend?

We're going to Lanzarote this year (playa blanca) The villa is close to the beach and there's a waterpark a few kilometres away. We're going with Jet2

Crete would be worth a look - lots to do with a car and less expensive/crowded than some on your list. May be baking but then so would your other locations (except Tenerife). You could also try Kefalonia.
