Doing a stop over in Hong Kong for 3 days and would like hotel recommendations where myself, hubby & 18 yrs old son can explore the city from. Nothing too expensive, but clean, central with a good breakfast. Thanks

We stayed at the Jen by Shangri-La at Shek Tong Tsui and it was great. That would tick most of your boxes.

I like the Salisbury YMCA. Kowloon side, but right by the Star Ferries terminal, so good for exploring both sides.

The Cordis in Mongkok is great, I have stayed there a few times on business and pleasure. Right across the road from a big shopping mall with an MTR station and within east walking distance of things like the ladies market, goldfish street, flower market etc. It has a lovely rooftop pool and spa as well.

When we went we stayed at Lanson Place Causeway Bay and found the location excellent for exploring. I don’t know what the prices are like now, but back when we went (about 10 years ago) it was remarkable value for money. It felt very luxe and though I wouldn’t say it was cheap, it also wasn’t expensive. Other hotels at similar price points were either far less nice or far less central.

We stayed in the Royal Garden TST (just across from the PP hotel but much cheaper

TST is a great place to stay as you overlook the island, lots of bars restaurants & shops & easy to travel everywhere on the MTR (subway)
