Istanbul for 6 days…

Got 6 days in Istanbul planned in September then 3 days in Cappadocia. I’ve been to Istanbul some years ago for a short break and loved it. Does that sound a bit long though? Maybe 5 days and then 4 in cappadocia…. Is there enough to fill our time?

like history, nice food, walking….

We took the ferry to Buyukada - an island popular with wealthy Turks in the 1920s - and hired bikes (no cars allowed). Beautiful views round every corner and lovely architecture. One of my favourite parts of our holiday.

We went for a week a few years ago, simply because of the flight times.
It was really too long, we eked out the sight-seeing to one per day, & dawdled over meals !

Thanks for that. I think we'll take a trip out to Buyukada for a day (thanks @Periwinkletoes ). The last couple of cities we have visited have been mega cities with lots of accessible day trips too and we easily filled a week and could have stayed longer.

I'm wondering if we might just have a little bit too much time on our hands in Istanbul. We spent a week in Tbilisi a few years ago (flight times) and while it is a lovely city - we were glad we'd booked an overnight wine tasting trip to break it up.

DS has just come back. They had 3 full days plus most of the final 4th day. He said it was a day too long. However, the weather wasn't kind so maybe he'd have felt differently if it had been warmer.

DH and I went a couple of years ago, we had 2.5 days and found that was more than enough
