Too big for a travel cot too small for a bed! Any Advice?

My DD is 13 months old and very tall (99th percentile) and is rapidly becoming too big for our M&P Travel Cot. She is too wriggly and small however for a proper bed, even with a side bar. We are off on hols in August for a week in the UK, any advice? Does anyone hire cotbed size travel cots? Thanks in advance!

ready bed? On the floor so less danger if they fall out

Do you know that could be a plan! I will have a look at those, thank you. She rolls and rolls in her cotbed but even if she did roll out the side on the floor she would not go very far!

Thanks funnyperculiar!

No problem. I have to say neither of mine went into them as early as that (dd at 2 is JUST squeezing into travel cots... but she is a runt ) but ds certainly adores his - in fact he still insists on sleeping in it when he has mates for a sleepover (he's 4)

They aren't very secure for rollers, but we used to use a duvet/blanket with it, tucked very firmly in at both sides. There was fewer 'midnight calls' than we expected.

Will have a look for sure. DD is almost 80cms and my travel cot is only 106 which is not much help, especially with a growbag! I have seen a couple of travel cots that are 120cm which may work for a short while but at the rate she is growing we would be out of that by Xmas so it might be an Ebay job for a long travel cot then a blow up bed for nannies house at Xmas!

We have a ready bed and it has been excellent. We have used it for camping and for when we stay at friends' houses. Highly recommendeded.

We have the same problem with our nearly 2 year old. We're flying down south to see family and we really don't want to take the travel cot, which I don't feel would be that good for him now anyway. Are ready beds OK for that age do you think? The recommended age is 3+

Great link, as we've been thinking about this too. Had to wedge DS in a travel cot at the weekend - but he really didn't look too comfy!

Just read a couple of reviews on amazon and one helpfully pointed out that the 'my first ready bed' was too small for his toddler and he wished he'd bought the 'junior ready bed' instead. That's certainly the one i'll be after - now just want to find a unisex one so that my daughter will be happy to use it once my son has finished with it!
