Going on holiday next Sat and worried I'm overpacking.

Going for a week to fuerteventura, so very hot, but apparently windy too. My friend who is coming with me is packing a day outfit and evening outfit for all 7 days ( so 14 outfits in total) per person. Thought this was excessive until another friend said she does the same!

So I've managed 14 outfits for dd (who is nearly 2 - she's a very messy eater though so this may be necessary) 14 tops for ds (4)(about 6 bottoms though he doesn't have 14!) so now thinking 7 pairs of pjs each? Trouble is they both wear nappies to bed and sometimes they leak so don't want to be caught short...

And what should I take for me?? 14 outfits????

Also dd still has bottle of milk for bedtime (both plane times fall into this). Was thinking fresh milk isn't an option due to hours hanging around air ports, if I take sealed cartons of formula will they make me open them?

I took sealed cartons and they were deemed ok (this was last October). I have also taken bottles with water in and powder to add and they did make me taste the water but that was not a prob.

I always overpack but i would not take 14 tops / outfits etc. My DS1 is a messy eater, likes to play in mud / sand etc but you can handwash stuff quite easily. I am always annoyed at myself when I look at the stuff that has not been worn. Personally I would take something like 4/5 t-shirts, 3 shorts, 2 trousers and 1 or 2 warmer tops (zip up sweatshirt type things) per child. Obv dresses etc for DD if she wears them instead of shorts and t-shirt.

We just went away for a week with DS1 who is 27 months and DTs who are 5 months. I took waaaaay too much. DS1 ended up wearing the same 3 tops the whole time, and 2 pairs of shorts.

14 outfits? Who actually owns 14 outfits suitable for warm weather? No, I took far too much and ended up wearing probably 5 or 6 tops over a fortnight, and the same in shorts or skirts. That's only two wears each.

If I had the time, I'd make sure everything I took matched with everything else. So, most of my stuff was blue / turquoise or neutral / beige. The red skirt I took wasn't worn cos there was nothing to go with it. Don't know why I took it really...
