I've never been one a holiday where you go to a resort.

I've been camping in France and I've been to cities on the continent and in the US.

But I have never gone to a seaside resort with the kids.

So, serious question and I'm not picking a fight, what do you do all day? Do you hire cars and drive round places, or do you stay put. Is there a lot to do with kids, or is it 'just ' sun and sand (I'm not good with a lot of sun)

any good places that you can recomend?

It simply depends on the resort! Some will have loads of activities - for example water sports, nordic walking , crafts for smaller kids, swimming pools and sports facilities available.

What you really have to watch out for is the night life - if your room is above the disco it can be a nightmare!

And many resorts will orgnanise day trips for you - but these are likely to cost a small fortune in comparison to the local bus or whatever.

Don't really do those type of holidays as we tend to stay away from resorts but when I was younger, it was a case of lying on the beach or by the pool all day before going out in the evening.

There will be resorts which are not as resorty as others such as say benidorm compared to Olu Deniz in Turkey but it really depends on what you are looking for from your time away.

Most recently we've started cruising as you get to havbe days by the pool/spa relaxing as well as days at various ports of call varying from Italy to the Caribbean.

Don't mean to sound horrid or disrespectful to those who do but our choice of holiday is not a package holiday along with thousands of other brits in their England tops having a full english and a pint at 9 am!
