Hi MN! Im hoping for some recommendations for a long weekend! It’s my partners 40th birthday so I’m looking for somewhere nice but that has stuff to do with kids. Will be 4 adults 4 kids (5yo, 18m and 1yr). Some parameters… it’s February so weather might not be great, we’re in Kent and SW London so ideally SE England really. Open to suggestions of nice towns people have visited or specific accommodation, like nice airbnbs or cabins people could recommend? Love the idea of a cabin with hot tub etc but not always kid friendly. Thanks so much!

Center Parcs Woburn. My DSis lives in Kent and it takes her two hours.

Thank you! I had thought about that but think husband would turn his nose up! (Obvs center parcs is in our future now we have a kid 😂 but maybe not for his 40th)

Four Seasons Hampshire? Lux enough to feel like a treat but still super child friendly and close to London.

New Park Manor, part of the Luxury Family Hotels chain

I know you said no to pp and center parcs, but how about Center parcs in Belgium. Train to France and closest one is near Bruges less then 2 hours from Calais. Bruges is a beautiful city lots to see and do, use center parcs as a base for the kids. Could also visit Ghent or Brussels as well. Also cheaper then uk center parcs.

Not SE but Gleneagles or Estelle manor might work if your husband would turn his nose up at center parcs?

Potters in Norfolk?

Involves getting on a plane, but Beekse Bergen (fly to Eindhoven from Stansted - Very quick flight so good with little ones!) is great for a long weekend with family - stay in lodges or the safari hotel (pretty luxurious rooms and look directly onto the animals). Loads to do and see on site for the kids, and much better value than UK Center Parcs. We went for my 39th 🤣.
