Hi All,
I realise this is quite niche being a specific hotel, but we are staying here for 5 days as part of our Thailand holiday and I wondered if anyone can let us know of any nice restaurants that are easy to get to from the hotel?

Also regarding excursions, the hotel have some on their website but I'm wondering whether to just book when we are there as I'm sure the price is more when booked through the resort.

Any tips gratefully received.

We are going to Following Giants for a morning, and the tours with the hotel that we fancy are Koh Haa or Koh Rok snorkling type tours and also a Mangrove tour.

This is our first time in Thailand and I just can't quite imagine what it will be like and how easy it will be to do things out with the resort!

Hi
We were there in January. We loved it. Restaurants in the hotel are lovely. Several other restaurants and bars along the beach which were much cheaper and very good, sorry - can’t remember their names. Didn’t do the snorkelling trip but the rest of my family went diving with the dive school at the hotel, it was well organised and the enjoyed it. Did the mangrove tour (with swimming monkeys) at sunset - really peaceful and atmospheric. Booked excursions through the hotel app (not the diving) which was very easy, but they might be cheaper if booked with local companies, not sure on that. Hope that helps

@TooManyPistachios thank you so much for this. That's great to hear! We are really looking forward to it. I think I will do the same re the excursions, working on the basis that they must be decent quality if the hotel are selling them. The Mangrove Tour sounds great - will definitely book that!

Thanks for letting me know about the bars and restaurants. The hotel options look lovely but we are both vegetarian so sometimes need to vary the restaurants a bit to get more choice and I was slightly concerned nothing would be in walking distance!
Thanks so much 😁

We went to Koh Lanta last year, sadly our budget didn’t allow Pimalai, but we hired a private longtail boat which was very comfortable and the skipper and crew were amazing. We went to Koh Haa and Koh Rok, and saw the Pimalai speedboat there. If you would like a more “authentic” feel, I would suggest the longboat. (The company is Chotika Longtailboat on Facebook). It is owned by a British man and his Thai wife and they are lovely.

You can walk along the beach a bit and find loads of lovely places and also take aways to take back to your lovely room.
We also let the staff in the dining rooms know were were on a budget and they were ludicrously kind and helpful even letting us order all our evenings drinks during happy hour (they then served them throughout the evening).
The staff, esp the host in the dining room would not do enough for us, it is heaven!
