Toddler UK holiday

user1497535565 · 30/10/2025 12:57

Hello, please can people suggest a nice UK holiday for me and my toddler. I’m looking for a week’s stay with swimming as a must have and possibly other activities. It would need to be self-catering but with the option to eat out if possible. I’d like everything contained on site for ease. I’ve looked at Center Parks, Forest Holidays and Ribby Hall but please could I have any other suggestions / recommendations. I’d prefer south but happy for other locations.

We are allergic to dogs so would need the option to stay in a dog free accommodation.

Thank you.

Forest Holidays don't have swimming as far as I know.
Any of the Haven, Parkdean, Hoseasons type sites should suit a toddler. Or dare I say it......Butlins!

I like Searles in Hunstanton. You can even pay extra for a lodge with a hot tub.

Honestly based on what you’re after… I think Butlins fits the bill

We have had some brilliant holidays at ParkDean caravan sites. If you choose the more expensive accommodation, it’s fine. There’s loads of toddler friendly activities on site and usually the site is near tourist attractions.

Bluestone is great with small kids. Swimming, indoor and outdoor play areas, the Serendome has a little playground, water and sand play under a roof so you’re good for all weathers. Saundersfoot beach nearby is lovely. Went this year with 4 and 2 year olds and they loved it.

We were able to choose a pet-free lodge when booking with Hoburne, and toddler DD was perfectly happy with the activities there.

We used to take ours to Houbourne holidays they are SW caravans are lovely and they had pools they probably allow dogs though. Failing that there is Butlins i know people turn their nose up at it but it might fit for what you want.

Sandy Balls
Bluestone
Glynn Barton
Flear Farm
Clydey Cottages

I'd second Bluestone. Perfect for young children. Activities like Folly Farm, Saundersfoot, Caldey Island nearby and a nice swimming pool on site.

Butlins. We're also a fan of haven too, but Butlins has loads more included. I know it's not 'cool' but my 4yo LOVES it.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions! Lots I hadn’t heard of so I will look into these tonight. 😀

@user1497535565 worth noting that lots of the communal areas at Hoburne allow dogs (including eg the bar). Not sure if that would be a problem?

Hello, I’ve looked up Bluestone and wow wow! This is exactly what I’m after. Does anyone have any recommendations re the one bed cottages in terms of location? And also, with the Serendome - is it suitable in winter? Will the pool / splash zones be warm? I’m just wondering if we can sneak a January break in it looks so good!
thank you so much. X

Thank you, I accept dogs will be everywhere. We just can’t have had them in accommodation. But appreciate the heads up.

Bluestone is lovely. We generally hire a golf buggy and then location doesn't really matter that much, but if not then between the serendome and village centre so both easily accessible. It is a bit of a hilly site so would generally go for the buggy! Weve been in February before when stormy and Serendome was fine, I mean it's not warm but perfectly fine in layers. Pool water is warm, walking around the flutes can be a bit cooler.

Just thought I’d come back and say thank you so much about recommending Bluestone. We’ve just got back from a break. We booked a cottage in the village and hired a golf buggy. We barely used the buggy as it was so wet it was easier to push toddler’s buggy and walk. The only thing that was hard was unloading the car in the village and walking with bags and toddler (as a single parent). If I were to go again, I would use one of those big trailer things you can put things in and pull!

If you ever fancy another place OP I am obsessed with Plassey Holiday Park in Wales, it’s one of my favourite ever UK holiday parks and I rave about it to everyone I know! It has swimming on site, a cute little retail village, lovely reasonably priced restaurants and a huge play park. Within a 15 minute drive is also a soft play area, bowling and trampolining. We’ve been twice now, stayed in a lodge and also in the glamping tent (which was absolutely stunning), so if you’re considering anywhere else check it out, I have a toddler and a baby and we love it!

Thank you! That’s so kind. I will have a look. X
