One week, next week - where shall I go?

I have 7-10 days off to do some solo travel next week. Where shall I go? Greece looks too cold as does most of Spain. I liked Antigua and Thailand. Happy to do a city break too but not too expensive.

Fancied Sweden but not prepared to pay £800 for 4 nights of decent hotels.

Morocco, lovely and warm and lots to do. You MUST get your jabs though.

Sicily. Unlikely to be warm enough for poolside lying around but a week of travelling around somewhere it is far too hot during the summer months would be heaven.

Portugal

Just back from a lovely time in Olhao Portugal. 10 min drive from Faro airport.
Was 25+ degrees and sunny.

It's 25C all next week in Kyrenia, Cyprus.
Rhodes 23C, all next week.

Seville is about 25 degrees at the moment. My favourite place.

I have been to southern spain and Portugal this time of year and had beautiful weather- but depends how hot you want it.
The Canary Islands will be warm, probably Cyprus too

The Andalucian cities are great and good value for accommodation and eating out, weather likely to be mostly sunny and quite warm. Plus easy and cheap coach or train between them.

See what flights you have access to Malaga and/or Seville, you could spend a few days in each. Possible day trips by train would be Cordoba from either and Cadiz from Seville.

There's plenty of cultural attractions in Lanzarote and it will still be beach weather for relaxation too.

Another yes to Malaga! Lots to do in Malaga itself, plus great walks up and down the coast to the various towns/ villages. Train trips to Cordoba, Granada etc and you must visit the Caminito del Rey. Great nightlife in Malaga too.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 28/10/2025 06:04

Seville. One of my favourite places too.

Depends how far you want to go and what you want to do when you get there - but spring in South Africa is stunning!

South Africa. Very good value. But keep your wits about you.
southern Spain, great food, nice people, lots to see. I’d go to Malaga and Granada .
