NYE in Cape Town

We are travelling to Cape Town for Christmas and new year. We are in a quandary about how to spend NYE; do we go to the waterfront, kirstenbosch or something else? All experiences welcome. We are a group that consists of grandparents down to young teens and are staying in Camps Bay.

I’ve spent NYE just outside Camps Bay at the 12A Hotel. We were flying home 01/01 after 4 weeks on holiday so were happy to stay in the hotel. The waterfront will be extremely busy, which is what put us off. Getting home, traffic, Ubers, Taxis. If you can arrange transport with your hotel then do that. I’d stay in Camps Bay, book a restaurant. It’s just going to be extremely busy.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Think we are leaning towards the concert at Kirstenbosch botanical gardens.

That will be amazing, but as with anywhere in NYE do try and book your transport up in advance.
