Shortbreak Couples Ski holiday for beginners

Hello,

My DP and I are looking at a midweek short break (3/4 nights).

He has never been skiing before so this is a short trip so he can learn to ski.

I am looking for somewhere with short transfer times, a beautiful setting, snow sure as we would go when it’s slightly warmer preferably Feb/ March. Ski school for him and maybe a morning group for me. Light apres ski or cute town.

Bonus points for an indoor/outdoor pool with sauna or hot tub.

The idea is to inspire DP to the wonders of skiing. There’s nothing like standing on top of a beautiful mountain.

Any recommendations for places or operators to research would be much appreciated.

Les Gets (France) is great for beginners. The town is picture postcard perfect and lots to do.

Fly to Geneva and it’s about 1hour 30 mins transfer.

There are a fair number of options that are a fairly short transfer from an airport depending where you are travelling form and the availability of suitable flights.
Innsbruck / Salzburg lots of resorts.
Geneva lots of places Switzerland and France.
Turin Milky Way and Aosta Valley.
For a short holiday and beginners you don't need a mega resort with lots of KMs of runs.
As an extra you may not be able to join group lessons midweek they generally start the day after arrivals day Sun or Mon. So the class will have moved on. Private lessons work better. Also particularly for a few days it may be worth getting the basics learnt here either on dry slope or better an indoor centre so that you can handle the boots and skis and stand up etc. That way you can make the most of your time in the mountains.
