Hi looking for recommendations for a Christmassy night away in south/south west England or maybe south wales for just me and 2 teenage boys. Would like a hotel with family rooms, an indoor pool and perhaps some other kind of outdoor activity or games room. Budget is pretty small but we can go Sunday or midweek from 2nd week of December so hoping to be able to find something!! Thank you :)

We’ve had some good experiences at Holiday Inns. The ones we’ve stayed at in various locations around the country have had a swimming pool, pool table and a big TV showing sport in the bar area. I think some do free children’s food buffet-style as well where they can help themselves to things like chips and chicken nuggets etc (always good for hungry boys who like to top up their main meals with a second meal 😂)

Hotel Collingwood in Bournemouth has an indoor pool, games room and is very family friendly

Trickier with teens. I would do a city break with Christmas markets and then something else to add on. E.g. Bristol markets then a show (Moulin Rouge is on over Christmas) or Bath markets then the Roman baths. Exeter has a smaller market but could combine with something else, lots of escape rooms, Boom Battle Bar, Panto's etc.
