Austria, Switzerland & ….

Hi all, just looking for some advice for our next family holiday! There are four of us - me, myself and two boys ages 10&9.

Last year we went to Austria & Slovenia - we spent time in the Austrian lakes, did zip lining over Lake Bled, dry toboganning and canyoning (not my fave thing but the boys enjoyed it).

We’ve just returned from Switzerland where we were swimming/paddleboarding/kayaking in the lakes, went up mountains, trottbiking down, dry toboganning and paragliding.

Where next? We’d like something similar and ideally another short flight.

Any recommendations welcome 😊. Happy to book our own flights, Airbnb accommodation and hire a car.

Thank you!

Italian Dolomites all the way - stunning, loads to do plus WW1 Austria/Italy trenches that your boys might be interested in. Stayed here several years ago, it was excellent.

French alps (Chamonix, Annecy) or Italian Dolomites or lake Garda or Maggiore.

Thanks! We did fancy Italy but wanted to stay away from the busy/touristy areas of Garda and Como. The Dolomites might be the one! And that accommodation looks perfect @321zyx! Very similar to what we’ve just stayed in in Switzerland 😊

Morzine in France is a great place for all these kind of activities -can fly to Geneva.

French Alps but fly to Marseilles and head up towards Lac de Serre Poncon and Briancon. Lots of fabulous outdoor activities. Serre Poncon was featured in the Sunday Times this week.

We stayed 5 nights in the Dolomites in early June (stayed in a campsite for the 9 days before that). Lovely part of the world.
Highly recommend Ortisei which is the town we stayed in.
