Inspiration for 2-week August holiday

Hi!

We will have a 2-week work closedown next August and I'm thinking to use that time to go away for the full 2 weeks (normally we just go away for a week in August). So it could be either Europe or we could do longer haul. I googled for some inspiration and there were some ideas like Brazil or Kenya that I wouldn't have thought of. I got my latest holiday idea from posting a thread on here (thank you!) so thought some people might have some ideas. Kids will be 9 and 6.

August is NOT a great month for Costa Rica!
If you don’t mind heat and you’ve got a fairly generous budget, you could do San Francisco to Los Angeles - a mix of theme parks, sightseeing, beaches and nature. We did 4 nights in SF, 3 nights in Monterey and 5 nights in Los Angeles.

Thanks both of you. I'd love to do Japan at some point but I've heard it's boiling and very humid at that time of year? Have you been @johnellis ?

@Forgottenmyphone that's an interesting suggestion thank you. I'll look into temperatures there as my DH doesn't love heat.

Forgot to say I do quite like the idea of Scandinavia, a thread on here someone talked about doing a trip around there for a couple of weeks
