Short haul short break

Dd is off to uni in September and we thought we’d have a 4 night break together to celebrate before she goes. We want sunshine and pool, and restaurants and a few shops to mooch round. Not too long a flight. Hotel not airbnb

so wise Mnetters… any suggestions for the perfect resort / hotel for us

Malaga and along coast towards torremolinos

I too would have said Malaga. I prefer the town to the resorts along the coast though. Great food, a mix of locals and some tourists, museums, the beach etc.

Myself and DD are having a few nights in Camp de Mar in Mallorca. We've gone AI right on the beach so it's a fly and flop. There aren't that many restaurants and shops so may be a little quiet for you but it looks very pretty

When I was that age and going off to uni, my mum and I went to the South of France for a few days (Cannes/Nice) and then to Monaco for a day trip at the casino. It was amazing and I still have such fond memories of that trip with my mum and I'm going to be 40 this year.

Palms Is lovely ans the south of France Antibes

Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. Lovely beach - miles of it - good shopping and sites to visit as well.

Go on to Skyscanner or Jet2 and put in your local airport and then ‘everywhere’ or ‘any destination’. Skyscanner you will see flight opens according to country (and then options to book a hotel), Jet2 will give you packages.

Hotel Bro in Malaga has a roof top pool. Hotel La Palma in Stresa, Lake Maggiore has lovely views, and roof top and lake front pools and bars. It's my happy place. Short flight to Milan and easy transfer.

I'd consider Palma or Lisbon.
