Lake Garda in mid-October?

I’m considering a lodge on a campsite in Lake Garda in mid-October for me (in late 40s) and two tween daughters for the early week in Oct half-term. They love swimming, but all I can find is campsites with outdoor pools. Is it nuts to think about it then? My research tells me the temperature is early 20s. I’ve been to the area before and loved it, but that wasn’t a kids’ holiday and I’m looking for recommendations for things to do there with tween girls.

I love the area as well but I would think there is a high chance that outdoor pools would be seasonal and may be closed in October, I would certainly check carefully if that is important to you.

We've stayed in Lugano at that time of yer and swum outdoors in the Lido at the lake and it's been fine. But you know if your children really need a heated pool or not!

Usually May to October is seasonal heating time?

I used to live in Milan and October was usually pretty cold, I used to wear a light jacket. Unless you're very lucky, I can't imagine swimming in an outdoor pool in October.

Thanks all. That’s what I expected. Will think on!

We were in Lake Garda last mid September and it was only warm enough to swim on a couple of days of the holiday. I’m sure by October it’ll be getting chilly unless the pool is heated or they’re hardy swimmers. Look for a place with an indoor pool maybe?

We visited Lake Garda a few years ago in October half term week and it was quite chilly in the evening/early morning. Very pleasant in the day time, but pleasant in terms of being able to walk around in light trousers and a T shirt, rather than swimming in an unheated pool .
