Holiday credit/debit card

First non all inclusive holiday abroad for many years and fairly sure last time we just took all cash.

Do people have a travel credit/debit card to avoid fees or still just take cash? We will be in France if that makes any difference!

ongoing getting cash out from a cashpoint overseas is the best way. Same rules apply as in the UK check for charges and use one attached to a bank if possible - avoid ones in convenience stores and so on. We rarely take cash and just get the odd €20 out
