i’ve been to this beautiful island many times and seem to remember that on each occasion the sea was filled with tiny see through jellyfish that mildly sting you as you swim… is this always the case or have I just been unlucky?

I've been going to Menorca for many, many years, and I think only saw jellyfish once or twice, and never had any problems. But my son and his girlfriend went last year, and she got stung by a jellyfish. So they are there, but for me, they've never caused any problems, but a sting is not unheard of.

It could be the location - we mainly go to the North and South coasts, my son went to the west coast, and I think perhaps jellyfish are more common there

Interesting about which side youre on thanks. We have been mainly south/east. They weren’t big jellies - they were almost invisible tiny things. You would realise they were surrounding you when you’d feel light stingyness all over. Really weird.
