We were very surprised how easy and cheap & fabulous we found travelling between the cities of Andalusia in the cool of spring by train. Ronda to Seville then Granada & finally to Malaga . Lots to visit , great culture ..well priced food & drink ! Great holiday

This is definitely on my list .. also my sons he’s flying to Vienna and getting a bus from there apparently

I’m quite cross that my local airport doesn’t offer Summer flights to either Slovenia or Vienna.

Hi op. Hope you can help. I have spent many hours researching getting around Andalusia for our trip later on in the year and have found public transport to be dreadful. It just doesn't seem to work for sightseeing. Am I missing something?

Are you planning to stay in a city and visit other cities or are you looking at touring around? A couple of years ago we stayed in the centre of Torremolinos (you could choose Malaga if you preferred) and found it very easy to get the local train into Malaga and then on to other places from the Maria Zambrano station. We visited Cordoba on a day trip and did Seville with an overnight stay. Next year we plan to do a similar holiday but visit Ronda and Granada, possibly with an overnight stay. We’ve found the coastal train and local buses to be very easy too.

In fact Torremolinos would be my surprisingly enjoyable destination! We first visited by accident when we needed some cheap accommodation after missing a flight and initially weren’t that impressed but found it so convenient and we like to alternate trips out with walking down to the La Carihuela beach area. We visit in February so imagine it’s a lot different in the summer.

Luxembourg was not what I expected at all, and I loved it.
Had no expectations of Roscoff but found it and the surrounding area really nice for a relaxed few days

My unexpected place was Genoa. Went because it was cheap and I wanted some sun, but actually really liked it - nice mixture of tourist activities while being a city that people still live in.

Agree. Absolutely love it. We stayed in Sampierdarena which is a pretty working class area, actually overlooking the docks so we could watch the ships coming in and out from the apartment. Was particularly taken by the SAMPIERDARENA ANTIFASCISTA graffitied in 6 foot high letters on a prominent wall. Don't be shy, tell us what you think now 😆 Also: focaccia. And pesto. And pesto focaccia. And the fact it's such a vertical city it's full of free public lifts and funiculars. And that it has so many beautiful seaside suburbs.

But even more surprising I think was Marseille. It's got such a bad reputation, but it's now firmly my favourite place in France. Yes, it's still got its scuzzy side, but it's so vibrant and multicultural- and friendly! 😱 The food was amazing- sometimes all classical French cuisine can get dull, particularly as I'm vegetarian, but we had Japanese, Spanish and loads and loads of North African food and it was all delicious. Plus the Calanques National Park starts right on the edge of the city, which is stunning.

off to look it up .. would love to travel around Poland 😊

Go to Gdansk! It's lovely. Zakopane and the surrounding areas are also beautiful (as is Hel)

For me it's Malta, never even considered it until we were invited to a friend's wedding and it's just gorgeous
