Ive asked this before but im still struggling to find a place.
We want a nice beach, self catering apartments, with a nice town you can walk to. Its a big anniversary but i dont want/need far flung or super fancy.
Any suggestions for a resort or even apartments?

We just want to be able to swim in the sea and have a nice stroll around in the evenings and stop for a drinky.
I cant find something that hits the spot for September weather.

Thanks all
We think maybe we have narrowed it down to Mallorca, No direct flight to Kos for us, which location wise we would like, but I cant be doing with the schlep of it.
Thinking Soller, have done Pollenca and Cala Dor, think Soller might be a nice change.
Will keep Kos for next year when we wont be as knackered after everything and can stay with DD for a UK flight.

Did you go and how was it? We've just booked a week in Soller for mid October this year. It will be our first holiday abroad for 7 years!

My go-to is Can Pastilla in Mallorca. A quiet part of Playa de Palma with a bay for swimming (Cala Estancia) if you don't fancy the main beach. Loads of places to eat and drink.

If you want more lively, hop on the tourist train to Arenal about 2km away. There's also a path that runs all the way from Arenal to Palma along the beach/coast which is fab for walking or cycling.

Palma is about 20 minutes and €2 on the bus, the airport is right next door but there's not much plane noise.

For self catering the Embats Apartments are cheap and cheerful with some amazing sunset views if you get a balcony room. The Delfin Apartments a bit further along the beach are more upmarket and have a hot tub on the roof!

Mels bar on the harbour does a great breakfast. For a dining experience get a cab to the Can Torrat restaurant where you will find a massive wood-fired bbq and chips fried with whole cloves of garlic.

Nip in Mandragora in the evening for the best mojitos and some live music or comedy, or chill in El Ankla with morrocan decor, floor cushions and hookah pipes.

If the weather isn't so good, Palma Aquarium is a good day out even if you're an adult.

Villefranche-sur-mer in the south of France was lovely at that time of year, as I suspect anywhere would be. Great public transport, fly into Nice, use the trains and buses.
