August Bank Holiday Weekend Ideas

We are all free Friday to Monday August bank holiday weekend and I want to do something! Abroad ideally to be honest... We are south Uk so nipping over channel or getting to Gatwick pretty simple.

Tween and dh eager, two teen dc reluctant (both like being at home, one also hates travelling especially quick trips). They have said if dog comes they are keener but he doesn't have dog passport currently (and I love him but he's not always the easiest dog and would hate a city break!)

Anyone have any suggestions for helping persuade teens to travel/long weekend trips?!

If they need persuading, why not let them take the lead on where to go?

If they don't particularly like travel/being away from home, something like the Isle of Wight might be a good option in that it's a change of scene, but still 'feels' the same as home rather than somewhere abroad. You could also bring the dog. Whitecliff Bay I Isle of Wight Holiday Resort is lovely and has pet friendly accommodation (as well as direct beach access and things like a sauna, swimming pools, hot tubs and a bar etc), so the teens could have some freedom too.
