Is anyone in Crete today?

Hi,

I have holiday in Crete booked next week.
The 2 consecutive earthquakes and a tsunami warning are highly concerning. How affected is the island? From the news, it's quite grave.

No update on FCDO travel advice/cancellations.

Does anyone have local knowledge? The hotel rep seems unconcerned.

I'm not there but I wouldn't worry. Crete gets mini earthquakes fairly regular, its just the norm there. You'll be fine. Crete is one of my favourite places!

Thank you, it is reassuring to hear from someone who is knowledgeable about the area. It will be my first time in Crete (and any part of Greece and islands really). I am excited but of course I don't want to compromise my safety.

I don’t think one is a mini earthquake to be fair at 6.1!
