Day trip from Strasbourg by train

We are off to Strasbourg for 3 night on Thursday
would like to explore other places. Possibly Germany.
places mentioned are Baden Baden, Freiburg (we don’t have time to do both) Colmar.
where would you suggest? Has to be on a train route

Nancy is beautiful and very different architecture from Strasbourg.

Colmar is lovely and doable in a day. I really enjoyed Strasbourg - one of those underrated destinations.

Colmar is lovely and would be my top pick. But Freiburg is also really worth a visit, right on the edge of the Black Forest.
