Accomodation at Disneyland Paris

Hello - my daughter, who has a learning disability, and her support worker, are going to DLP in a couple of months, travelling by Euro Star. I've reserved a room for them in Sequoia lodge (Gold Forest club) but am feeling anxious now given recent mixed reviews. Very expensive if it turns out to be sub-standard. Wondering whether air b and b or an off=site hotel might be a better choice. Any feedback based on your own experiences would be very welcome! I wouldn't know where to begin with air b and b. Thank you.🙂

Sequoia lodge is lovely. Nice hotel and close to the parks. She’ll have a great time!

Sequoia Lodge - all the onsite accomodations - are fine IME. They're generally clean and well appointed, although some say they're a little dated. Sequoia Lodge is charming though, and the golden forest rooms are lovely.

It's also an easy walk to the park and benefits from extra magic hour when the park is quieter. The walk from the park can be useful as the shuttle busses can be absolute carnage at peak times - people pushing and shoving to get on etc. if staying off-site, i's factor in Ubers (readily available) rather than relying on the shuttle.

Plus it's nice to walk back and chill for a bit during the day. Rope drop til fireworks can be 8.30am til 11pm in the parks and obviously it's a busy and stimulating place - we normally go back for a chill and a swim after lunch.

We stayed at Davy Crockett which was brilliant.really lovely in a forest with little farm and amazing pool and outdoor play area.still got the early time for Disney and all very Disney like.

We stayed Newport bay in November and it was really nice to just be able to walk to and from park. At that time it was the same price as the sequoia lodge and Cheyenne.

Have you also applied for the disability pass?

Great to be on site.

The Disney hotels are great. Ignore online bad reviews

We stayed at Sequoia lodge, it was perfectly fine, nothing fancy, but we basically only slept there, we were in the park until late and back in the park for 8am next morning. I don't think you need to be concerned, they will be fine there. It's about a 15 minute walk from the park. Did you book a package, as in park tickets and hotel room together? Usually that makes the hotel very affordable, it's often barely any more expensive than the park tickets. I would only consider staying off site if you booked the Disney hotel room only, it's usually quite expensive if you do that and not worth the cost.

We stayed at Hotel Cheyenne in February, I thought it was lovely. Room was quite small but very clean, modern and comfortable.
I think it has been recently renovated which sequoia lodge hasn’t, but from the outside sequoia lodge looked lovely anyway (didn’t go inside)
I think you get a lot of benefits staying at the Disney hotels too so it’s worth it - they’re closer to the parks, more shuttle buses, you can walk if you prefer (about 15 mins), you can use the luggage service to drop off and pick up at the park gates, you get an extra hour in the parks each morning.

I think sequoia lodge is really good value considering its location. You would have paid loads more for the marvel hotel or Newport bay which are both similarly located. It was a good choice 👍

We did this hotel a couple of years ago. It was fine. We made the most of the buffet breakfast and dinner and ate our own body weight at each, which meant we bought very little food during the day! My kids especially loved the buffet dessert trolley!!

Sequoia is lovely OP. It’s a really nice walk along the side of the lake then through the Disney village to get to the Park gates. There’s no traffic along the route which makes it a relaxing walk. It’s much nicer than staying off site. The breakfast was good and we got up early to make the most of the extra opening hours, we got on loads of rides before the queues started getting big.
Eurostar makes the journey really simple, love it.
Hope your DD has a brilliant time!
