If we loved Mexico where else would we like?

We're family of four - two DCs 13 and 11, looking for our 2026 holiday. Our previous favourite was Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico - we loved swimming in cenotes, low key watersports (think paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling rather than jet skis!), we did a catamaran boat trip and a fab trip into the jungle to zipline and rappel, but in between our adventures we loved relaxing poolside and on the beach at our all inclusive hotel. It was a holiday we'd love to clear our memories of so we could do it for the first time all over again! Given we can't do that, where else would we like?

You get a lot of quality and value for your Mexico AI holiday - I think you will find that combo hard to beat tbh. We enjoyed it very much too.

Thailand?
Costa Rica?

We go to Mexico lots and we also love Thailand, different but still loads to do and fun.

Vietnam is fab too

Where in the Yucatan Peninsula did you stay if you don’t mind me asking?

our teens liked Japan and Peru; also Greece. Slovenia was also good

We stayed at the Occidental at Xcaret - lovely hotel in amongst jungle with wildlife roaming freely. We also had unlimited entry into Xcaret Park through the hotel, amazing because we could go in first thing before the crowds and have the place to ourselves - we loved doing the river swims through empty rivers! We also loved our day in the jungle ziplinging, rappelling and cenote swimming. A fab holiday all round, hope you enjoy it if you decide to do it too!

Thanks for all the ideas everyone - funnily we had already booked Thailand for this year so great to know we're on the right track. Still needing to decide about next year, so please keep the ideas coming!

We visited Xcaret when we were there. What an amazing place. Unfortunately the airport experience at Cancun put us off going back and DH isn’t up for long haul again as he hates flying.
