As a general rule in France we’ve found Intermarche to have the best wine selections - even the smaller ones we’ve found have been better than eg huge Carrefour. I love French supermarkets and generally am not that discerning - it might just be that Intermarche stocks more of the types of wine we go for?

Auchan is huge and for its wines has a “Sélection Auchan” paper neck collar on bottles they consider particularly good value for money.
So, not the cheapest but we have always found them to be excellent.

Having shopped recently at Carrefour, Aldi, Super U and Intermarche, there's not an enormous difference, particularly over a short period of time. Just go to whichever is most convenient -- your time and fuel is worth something, too.

There is a big E.Leclerc in Outreau just outside Boulogne, normally has an excellent, well priced selection.
