Lake Constance or somewhere else from Zurich?

Hi
I've impulsively booked a flight to Zurich for a concert which my daughter and I want to go to, which would be the start of our Summer holiday but we won’t stay there more than a few nights as it’s so expensive. I need to find somewhere for a week after that which a 13 year old and 10 year old will enjoy and I am struggling! Had thought Lake Constance but now I’m thinking it will be boring for them? They’re not into museums or history or nice views(!), prefer shopping, swimming, theme parks, cinema and that sort of thing…. Or if we could find a nice big hotel with pools and stuff to so then that would also fit the bill. Any ideas? Looking for somewhere outwith Switzerland. We will be public transport but happy to travel a few hours by train in the direction of anywhere else we could fly home from. Any ideas welcomed thank you!

Freiburg in Germany. It's near Europapark, which is Germany's biggest theme park. There are cinemas, shopping, outdoor swimming pools and you could do day trips to France by train. It's an easy train ride from Zurich via Basel.

Thank you, I will check that out, had thought about Europa park but wasn’t sure how easy it was to eat to. We could fly back from Basel so that might be an option as hadn’t considered Freiburg. Thank you!

You could get to Munich in 3.5 hours on the train and they definitely won’t be bored in Munich. There’s enough in the city to fill a few days, and lots of day trips by public transport.
