Are there B&B type places in Spain ?

I am going to need something for one or two nights within the next week probably at quite short notice and don't want to pay a fortune. Is there anything similar to our B&Bs or do I need to look at hotels ? Any info would be very helpful and if anyone by any miracle knows of anywhere in Javea that would be absolutely fantastic !

Hi we stayed in places in the Basque region (B+B type things) which seemed to come under the term 'Agroturismo', try Googling that!
HTH

Thank you, I've just tried googling that but aren't getting anywhere for Javea, or nothing I can understand. Maybe I should just give in and go for a hotel. I'm just a bit worried about how much this is all going to end up costing.

I know, I am just trying it myself now! They are mainly rural places, and an awful lot of the sites are in spanish... Sorry about that. I wish I could remember the site we used at the time. It was about 7 years ago mind you!
Hopefully someone with more insider knowledge will be along soon - have a good hol!

try the phrase 'turismo rural' - i think agroturismo can be a bit specialised. They will be how they sound though - more rustic. Anywhere in Javea itself will be a hotel probably.

Hi you could try Alastair Sawday's Special Places To Stay site - don't know if there is anything in the area you want but worth a look. There are B&B type places & guesthouses listed, as well as hotels. Good luck!

You could put a message on www.mumsinspain i'm sure there are a couple of posters from Javea

I think the nearest thing to B&B is "pensions". I found this website:
www.travel-library.com/b&b/europe/spain/javea/
Hope it helps

I think you want a hostal or a pension (not sure of the difference to be honest, but there are more hostals - it doesn't mean the same as it does in English, just means bathrooms are shared where they are private in hotels). just google town name hostal or town name pension
