We (my DH snd I) are booked to go Lisbon at the end of the month. I have organised to go on a walking Tour on the first day, but what other activities would people recommend?

We are there for five nights and I was considering going to Sintra* *but have read mixed reviews. Again what were peoples experiences, is it best to go on an organised tour or DIY?

Thanks.

We stayed centrally at the Art Hotel, which was fab and had a gorgeous rooftop bar that was open to everyone and had music most nights.

Pack walking shoes/boots, the hills are unreal and you will be waking at an angle all day.

We also took a very touristy tuk tuk ride which was expensive, but we had a fantastic guide who took us to lots of beautiful places including a delicious pastel de nata
bakery 🤤

The best meal we had was a simple chicken, chips and salad at Bon Jardim: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g189158-d1045670-Reviews-Bonjardim-Lisbon_Lisbon_District_Central_Portugal.html

In the evening we managed to squeeze in a sneaky local liquor called Ginjiha, strong stuff!

Have an excellent time!!!

Day trip to Cascais by train along the coast is really worth it - if you like art the Paula Rego gallery there is wonderful. The Tile museum is really good - very informative and well laid out.

If you go to Sintra go to Quinta da Regaleira and Monseratte. This will take a full day or more. If you then have another day, go to the palace etc. The first two are much nicer. In Lisbon, the Pantheon is amazing and worth a visit. Other than that, all the usual sites that you can get to within five days.

We were in Lisbon a few weekends ago ( hope you have better weather than us). I would give Sintra a miss or if you do go, don’t pay in . The views are amazing and free and Sintra itself is pretty. It I think I would just have stayed in Lisbon.

We enjoyed the train to Cascais. Time out Food Market. LX factory. Day trip to Obidos.
