Anyone done Japan Universal?

We aren’t ’theme park’ holiday people, so don’t know all the drills of Disney etc like the pros, but my older age kids would LOVE Japan and Nintendo land etc - I’d got my head around universal Florida and hotels / past passes etc before (& didn’t go just too expensive) but struggling to understand how Japan works in the same way -
has anyone been and any do/ donts?

Others will disagree but Japan is so much better than a theme park. Shame to visit that as opppsed to seeing something more special. Doubt if it’s cheap!

We did Universal last year. Nintendo land was fun and my DS spent around 4 hours there. We just left him to it! The food in the cafe was all Mario themed but it was his birthday so well worth forking out for.

Nintendo at Universal Florida is about to open btw - but the Japan one looks epic. It’s on my bucket list!

Thanks - I won’t go to Florida.
japan has been on our visit with the kids list for years- this just adds to that as something else we might factor in- if it’s worth it!

We went and had a great day. There was something complicated to do with tickets to the Nintendo bit - we got in the park and then had to run to the Nintendo bit to get tickets. There may be a simpler way!

We went to USJ in April.

We didn’t bother with fast passes and got to ride the things we wanted to without them, We arrived an hour before park opening and just used the app to book timed entry to Super Nintendo World.

We had a good day. Super Nintendo World was really cool and the flying dinosaur is a brilliant rollercoaster. We preferred Tokyo Disneysea as an overall theme park experience though.

Japan is just a really cool place to visit, full stop. There’s so many awesome things to see and do.
