Things to do with a 14 yr old, great walker, likes art, design and good shopping! Appreciate the obvious big attractions but any other suggestions, smaller museums or galleries? Or food and drink (not just teen related that one!!). Early April so wont be too hot.

The Parc Guell is lovely - walking and art all in one!

Obvioisly all the Gaudi stuff! I love the Miro museum, a little bit out of town. I also have vivid memories of visiting Salvador Dali’s house in Figueres on a school trip as a teen.

If you have time for a trip out of the city, Girona is beautiful - it’s about 30-40 minutes on the train I think.

Moco museum is small and full of funky pieces.

Montserrat is a lovely day trip from Barcelona

Gracia for quirky clothes shopping
Encants for the flea market then Glories for chain stores

Monserrat by train, then cable car is good. Sagrada Familia is expensive and not really worth the queueing or the cost, plus need to book weeks in advance.
The design museum is an amazing all day activity, v well priced. Lots about modern and classic designs, amazing galleries covering space, product and fashion design.
For eating, any of the pintxos bars are great, better than tapas!
We didn't experience any pickpockets but did see a few arrest, plenty of local police around.

Mine loved the cable car - views were amazing.

I’d start with the hop on hop off tourist bus so you can orient yourselves and have an idea of what you would like to go back to.

There is a company who do guided tours of the city on a Tuk tuck, it was great fun and teens would probably love it!

We visited Barcelona in April 2019. My DDs were younger then, not quite teens, and it was their first 'city break'. We enjoyed visiting all the different Gaudí locations around the city. We also went to Parc Guell. DDs enjoyed the playground. We went to La Sagrada Familia - if you go to a place you might as well see its most famous sights - it was fine but our trip up one of the towers was cancelled. We went to the Picasso museum. We visited underground Roman ruins in the Gothic Quarter.
We had lunch at a beachfront restaurant and played/lazed on the beach. We took a day trip out to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia to visit the Freixenet winery. We walked down the notorious Rambla to the Monument a Colom but we didn't see any pickpocketing but that doesn't mean it wasn't happening. At the end of the Rambla, we had a super lunch at a tapas restaurant on the floating dock.
