Greece Island Hopping Advice

Hi, I'm thinking about island hopping in Greece with my friend for five days/week early September (when the prices drop after school holidays). Does anyone have any advice? I've hardly been abroad and not been in TEN YEARS!!!! I don't know what our budget will be but I definitely am NOT looking a luxurious, I'm looking at affordable. If anyone has any pointers, I'd be eternally grateful.

Five nights in total, including the days to arrive/depart? Island hopping won’t be much fun in the time - you’ll spend a lot of it on/waiting for ferries. How many islands do you want to see? And which group of islands?

Not enough time to island hop Go to 1 place or go longer

I agree, 5 days or a week is not enough time. If that's all you've got then base yourself on one island and do trips from it to another.
E.g. Corfu - Paxos, Erikoussa
Rhodes - Symi
Kos - Kalymnos
Skiathos - Skopelos
Athens - Aegina, Hydra, Poros
Crete - Spinalonga or even Santorini but I'd do 4-5 days in one part of Crete then 2-3 days on Santorini then fly home from there.
Kefalonia - Zakynthos (in either direction. Can fly into one and back from the other as there are ferries
And international airports.)
Kefalonia/ Ithika

Have tried to pick islands with direct UK flights as obviously there are hundreds of other options but these are doable with direct flights and 1 or 2 ferry trips.

From memory it was buttons to fly from Athens to Santorini so check as it might be cheaper to fly? I feel its a great adventure waiting for ferries is part of the fun
