If I loved Lagos

where else in Europe might I like? Looking for a bustling town with good bars and restaurants within walking distance of decent accommodation but with sandy beaches on the doorstep and water activities for 2 teens - oh and ideally no more than about an hour or so from the airport. Have ruled out Portugal this year as yearning for a slightly warmer sea. TIA for any ideas/suggestions.

I thought you meant Lagos, Nigeria for a second! I was thinking, I’ve never heard anyone rave about that city as a relaxing holiday destination!

It's a long long time since I went there but loved Tolon beach in combo with Napflion port in the 90s, though it was a bus ride between the two. I too loved Lagos but found it a bit cold though we did go in April and the locals said it was colder than normal too.

Cefalu or Porto Vecchio

Op would you mind telling me more about Lagos. Looking at going with two teens

I dont find the sea in Tavira as cold as the rest of Portugal; maybe because is closer to Spain and the Mediterranean. But perhaps a bit quiet for teens.

Our teens love Greece

Where is Greece do your teens enjoy?

Somewhere in Crete might fit the bill.

Me too! Was about to suggest Bogotá on that basis!

Daisiesanddaffodils24 · 06/06/2025 16:10

Lindos in Rhodes, although not sure about the waterspouts

putitdown356 · 06/06/2025 16:13

I thought you meant Nigeria😂. I was thinking wow is it really relaxing!

I was about to suggest Delhi, although Delhi is actually a very green city with quiet areas.

Anyway I agree with the Crete suggests.

Mijas on the Costa del Sol. Can you tell me more about Lagos as going there shortly. Have read mixed reviews on our accommodation so im a bit concerned. Would be nice to hear the good bits 😊

SantasLargerHelper · 06/06/2025 16:16

I love Lagos and Portugal in general.

Cala D'Or in Majorca is very nice. Or Porto Pollensa as someone else has suggested.

Or perhaps Sorrento in Italy. Nice in France perhaps? They don't have the sandy beaches though.
