Ski trip post Christmas 25

Hello all! I’m a keen skier, my husband not so much, but I’ve finally persuaded him to try a family skiing holiday just after Christmas with our three children (will be 4, 7 and 10).
I would love any recommendations for places:

that have guaranteed snow in late December
luxurious family friendly accommodation
other stuff to do around skiing (thinking of the swimming pool in Avoriaz etc)

Austria! Saalbach's Hinterglemm have some lovely hotels with pools / spas etc - loads to do if you want a day off skiing too like toboggan runs and trips in gondola

If you want guaranteed snow in December, look for somewhere with plenty of slopes above 2500 metres. For example, Cervinia/Zermatt, which culminates in the Matterhorn. The highest lift goes up to 3700m. We went summer skiing there 20 years ago but I don't know if that's possible any more.

Nowhere is really guaranteed great snow at Christmas/New Year. High resorts are much more likely to have it, but some years even they are pretty rubbish. And remember that if the high resort has snow and all the lower ones don't, all the guests from the lower resorts will go to the high resort to ski, so overcrowding is likely in a week that's already very busy.

We just got back from Les Gets/Morzine. Great family resort. Very compact and they put on free buses throughout the village. Was really impressed. Various levels of ski runs .

All of the "luxurious" hotels in Saalbach-Hinterglemm have pools. Most have "wellness" spas as well (sauna, steam room, massage etc). Most are on the winter programmes of the Tour Operators such as Crystal, Heidi and Inghams - but S-H is easy enough to DIY if you have a local UK airport with departures to Salzburg. The ski lifts are in the centre of both villages, and the snow-making is extensive, so snow is guaranteed on the pistes up on the mountains, even if there is not so much snow on the ground in the villages themselves. The ski schools all have English speaking instructors, although the childrens' groups will be a mix of kids from the UK and Ireland, Scandinavia, Netherlands and elsewhere.

Austria! I'd go to St Anton. Perfect skiing conditions and great with kids (you can stay in a hotel right on the lifts with restaurants walking distance so no need to move the car at all )
