Carvoeiro family accommodation

Hoping for some inside information here! We’ve been looking at staying at Monte Dorado for 11nights this summer, however we’ve taken so long deliberating it’s now booked up 😩
I’m hoping someone might have some recommendations of similar accommodation (price/location). A lot of the ones we are looking at have one small pool which I think would be rather boring for our two daughters (10 and 12years). Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance 🙏

A few years ago we stayed at the Monte Santo resort, which is a bit of walk from main town, but not too far (helped walk off some of the calories from our dinner!)

Have you checked private apartments on the Monte Dorado complex? If you go on Booking.com and look at Map View you can see apartments that are part of the complex but private.

About ten minute further up the road from Monte Dourado is Quinta do Paraiso. It's a great complex with a large pool and lots of facilities. Its walkable to town, whereas Monte Santo, which looks amazing, is a bit further up the road still. You can book direct or with the private owners of the apartments through VRBo etc. I think there are quite a few reviews of Quinta do Paraiso on here.

Ah thanks for your reply we were looking at Quinta do Paraiso and Monte Santo! @crumblingschools other than the distance to town what did you think of Monte Santo? Will have a look on booking.com and VRBO (only looked on Airbnb for direct rentals). Thanks again

@nc231981 we liked it. We had DC with us but didn’t use the kids’ club so can’t comment on that. DC liked the pool. We had 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and well equipped. Apart from breakfast, which we had at the hotel, we mainly made meals in the apartment or ate out at the numerous restaurants in town.

Seem to remember there was a shuttle bus to the large supermarket but we also bought supplies in town.

This was about 8 years ago, so things might have changed

@crumblingschools
thank you for getting back to me. My adv wouldn’t join kids club either and we like eating in and out so sounds right for us. Even if need to get taxi back of a night we like a walk so not going to let the distance put us off! Thanks again

@nc231981 It isn’t really that far but we did nickname the walk back the ‘hateful hill’ 😂
