Last minute flights to Belfast

So myself and a couple of friends are flying to Ireland (into Belfast) to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike in June. Our flights are booked but our circumstances have changed and one of my friends husband's are now unwell and will be having treatment for his condition up to at least the end of May. Due to the gravity of the illness we are now planning for our partners to come with us and make it a weekend away - obviously we can't predict the future or the outcome of said illness. So my question is does anyone have experience of booking last minute flights to Belfast from a northern airport (we've got a choice of five) in June and are flights generally available? Due to the circumstances we don't necessarily want to book their flights too far in advance.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I had to book last minute flights to Belfast for a funeral and couldn't believe how expensive they were. We are London airports though. There are lots of flights so I can't imagine availability would be a problem but I guess it is always a risk if you leave it.

I travel to Belfast a lot.
The price hike for last minute flights is unbelievable. The airlines know that flights for funerals will be booked at the last minute and make their money that way
I would book now if possible

TBH Id book cheap and take the loss if need be
Last minute Belfast flights are exorbitant , DH got charged £200 12 years ago when his dad died when if you plan it right you can get flights for £50

If you are planning on coming up for the hike using PT, make sure you fly into George Best not International

There's fights all day , usually full tbh, we fly back and. forth lots and its very rare there are spare seats

See you on the Hike :)

As above - we bury people FAST here in Ireland and NI. I’d get a cheapie now with no bag and take the hit if you need to. Make sure you pick the right airport - International or City - as the one you girls are travelling to. I’ve made that mistake and left the car at one, flown back to the other and they’re miles away!
