i’m looking for a short break in february on the cheap for 3-4 days with 2 kids. Is that even possible?

I’d look at the Canary Islands

How far are you willing to travel?

I’m in the Algarve right now. Was 20c today, daughter flew over from Luton for £30 return. Chilly at night lovely during the day.

We did Malaga in early January and had some warm days, not hot but t-shirt weather. Would be even warmer in Feb.

You’ll get sun and clear skies pretty much anywhere in the eastern / south coasts of mainland Spain. There’s usually a week or two of rain every winter, so you’d be unlucky to get those…

I’d go Valencia / Alicante or anything more south of that - Murcia and the Andalucian coast are sunny and warm too.

Spain and Portugal can be lovely and sunny in winter but you can never guarantee it. You could look at 14 day weather forecast and book something last minute.

Southern Spain can be lovely in February, and more than likely it will be - but equally it can be cool and rainy.

As an example, February 2024 over three and a half weeks, we only had half a day of rain.
Ten days February 2022, all lovely 18-21 degrees .

But February 2023 we had a lot of cloud and wind, just a few days of sun and 3 days absolutely torrential rain.
