Would you/have you gone on a wellness retreat by yourself?

I am considering doing this for first time ever. 2 nights away, nourishing food, yoga etc there do a single rate. I have friends I could ask to come with me but I'm thinking I could really do with escaping from everyone for a couple of nights and just focus on myself!

Anyone done similar?

Not a retreat as such, but I went on a walking holiday by myself for the same reasons.

An aquaintance was all 'awww couldn't you find anyone to go?'. Dunno, didn't try.

No, I shall wait until ds heads off to uni, then take a week off at the end of September, but not tell anyone.

I plan to run or swim every day, cook at my leisure, get up and go to bed when I want. Listen to birdsong. Sit in the sun. 😎

I regularly go on holiday alone. Although I enjoy going with family and friends, going alone is a special kind of treat.

Yes, I've been alone and with friends but either way I often see many people on their own!

I usually book though Wellness Holiday Boutique. Super friendly and loads of options of solo travellers!

Can you recommend any specific trips?

curious79 · 21/05/2026 06:04

Regularly! And a week sometimes more at a time

Mylazycatspyjamas · 21/05/2026 06:45

I used to go away regularly on my own to a specific retreat. It was a lifesaver.

notacooldad · 21/05/2026 06:51

To be honest,Id prefer to go by myself.

Thechateau · 21/05/2026 06:56

I've done this loads of times and nearly everyone goes on their own. Go for it OP

troppibambini6 · 21/05/2026 07:36

Absolutely I would! I’m currently on holiday with my whole family and fantasising about doing exactly this.

MinnieMountain · 21/05/2026 08:33

I would if I could find one that doesn't charge crazy single supplements. A long weekend in the Peak District works well though.

NConthe · Yesterday 12:58

The single supplements are huge in that link

Yes I prefer to do it alone as I don’t have to pander to anyone else

Tabarnak · Yesterday 13:10

I would go by myself without a second thought.

I do all sorts by myself - hiking, camping, can't for the life of me think why you would need company except where you actively want to go with friend , family or partner.

Hallywally · Yesterday 13:38

I would definitely if I could afford it. I can only afford a week away & mini break with the kids. I’d go on a solo break in a heart beat if I had the money.

A spa day strikes me as torture!
However the idea of a few days on a near-silent retreat would be bliss.
