Should I just book it?

Lapland trip.

£500 max for flights, return for three nights, 2A,2C. Direct flights.

Apartment circa £550. So around £1k before expenses.

OH is not keen. We did day trip from Dublin in 2022. It was 2500 plus two night stay after and before so circa £3k.

Youngest was 5 at the time and hated the cold. She wants to go again🙈

I can think of places I’d rather go with that money tbh

LittleRedRidingHoody · 04/01/2025 22:11

That's a fab price for flights IIRC! Do it 😊

Sorry I don't know what IIRC means?

That's about what I paid for February, transfers are expensive have you costed those, and activities, clothes hire? A package is often cheaper I went with Canterbury Tales I think it was called

Oh please tell me where? My kids just want snow. We have sun holiday booked for April so just thought this would be a bit different!

Edited

No this is solely DIY. Would need to factor the clothing and transfers in. But we have quite a few bits from a day trip in 2022 bar the outer bottom layers.

Ah thank you!! The prices have gone down so much, hoping we can all agree! 👍

We’re about to book Lapland for next Christmas. Apartment £1.5k and flights look extortionate at around £3k. So what you’re suggesting sounds good value to me!

There is a FB page, Lapland on a budget. This is where I got the idea from. Join the page and they are wonderful at giving advice.

Hi @freepend did you book?!

I’m currently trying to convince DH to book our flights for next Feb 2026. If it were up to me, I’d wing it & go this Feb term for 5 nights, flights are currently a bargain! 390 euro from Dublin return, for x5.

He now wants to hold out and book this time next year when prices drop 🙄
