Warm destinations in December

I wanted to know a few destinations I can consider for December 2025 for a family holiday going by recommendations of those that have been away this time of year before. My youngest will be 5 months old so ideally not too hot but warm enough to swim in a pool. I have never been away for Christmas but wanted to go away next year for a change! Thank you in advance!

Unless you want to go long haul to the far East with a baby, Canaries are probably your best bet. We've been to Lanzarote and Tenerife in Dec and Jan and it was warm but not scorching. Can be very windy though.

Friends go to mainland Spain and it's normally warm and sunny (looks fab this year) but you can't guarantee it.

Costa Verde if you just want to relax and do nothing.

Caribbean/Mexico again if you're happy with a long flight.

Be aware that to be away actually over Christmas, prices are at least double what they would be if you go early Dec or Jan.

I think if you want to swim in December, youre best looking for somewhere that has a heated pool unless you are hardy.

I think lots of places in southern Europe are going to likely have good chance of sunshine in December, but it wouldn't be guaranteed.
I had one Christmas near Alicante in Spain and it was definitely t-shirt weather but the pool was cold and the beaches were full of sticks and seaweed because theyre not tidied through winter, but it was lovely for relaxing and going for walks.

Malta can be lovely in winter.
Ive also been to a couple of places in Morocco in the winter, and that was great, but we didn't swim.

Tenerife in January was lovely one year
