I haven't been to Futuroscope but was at fantastic historical theme park near-ish to there: Put du Feu. It was fab with re-enactments of various events from French history including Viking raiders, Medieval Battles and a Roman Collosseum that included chariot racing and real lions. Since we were there they've also added a storming of the bastille section. A fantastic day out with incredible special effects and attention to detail... just get there early!

We went to Futuroscope a few years back. It was really great. I would advise you to get the translator earphones which were a great help. There were some very good displays especially the fireworks at night. If you havent got anywhere to stay I would recommend the Villages Hotel which is a sort drive away.

Sorry "short drive away"
