Late winter European break

DH and I want to go away for a weekend in February. Ideally somewhere in Europe, within 2 hours drive of an airport; a very nice hotel in a rural area (or at least not in a big city). DH is thinking maybe Northern Italy - he's keen on mountains - but really we're open to anywhere. It'll only be for two nights so we would like the hotel to feel a bit special. Any suggestions gratefully received!
