I realise its a bit of a long shot, but can anyone recommend a company for airport transfers in Majorca. We need one who provides (decent) baby car seats

Can't help with the question but just as a note of caution - we booked at car seat for our taxi transfer and didn't get one, despite me paying for it in advance. I stamped my feet but long and short of it was we either stayed in the airport or got in the taxi without a car seat. Ended up using the shuttle bus.

Thanks - I've heard a few stories like that Might end up taking seats with us or maybe hiring cars (but will be £££££ for a fortnight )

Try this lot for very well-priced car hire - we used them in Majorca and they not only had a lovely new car seat for DD but they upgraded us from a small car to a people-movery thing with tons of boot space for her pushchair etc.

We had similar issues to LenniEd with pre-booked airport taxis - took the risk and had DD on my lap on the way to the hotel, played merry hell with the rep once we got there and we did have one for the return trip, but on reflection we should have just hired the car from the airport!

Julie4Travel - that's who we used in Majorca - they stranded us at the airport as they had no car seat and offered us a refund or to get in the taxi without a seat. We took the refund.

I think they are better though in countries where car seats are compulsory - although we had a similar experience in Paris where our pre-booked taxi arrived without a car seat and the driver wound his window down and said he couldn't take us by law and carried on driving.

I am sure we've just been unlucky and had a couple of bad experiences but I would be very careful about using that firm for families with infants or recommend that they take their own car seat with them.

Aaaarrrgh - how can this be so difficult ?

We're already taking so much luggage (pushchairs, travel cot, bikes etc) but I think we'll end up taking the car seats as well

I know it probably sounds a bit PFB but I really don't think I would be willing to risk having her on my lap, especially knowing how some taxi drivers drive abroad

Thanks for the responses everyone

We've used these people and you can prebook childseats . dd's was a nice one , rear facing even for a toddler.
