I am flying out tomorrow morning, have two days one night before going to Sweden for the week.

Please can I have some ideas about what to do. Like history, art and getting to see as much as possible.

Thank you

I live here. It's very accessible and easy to get around. Top art and culture recommendations would be Statens Museum for Kunst and Glyptoteket. Sadly Tivoli is closed as they prepare for Christmas season next week.

Oh and I highly recommend the Visit Copenhagen website as the authoritative guide.

I visited many moons ago and the only things I really remember are having lunch at Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace to see the changing of the guard & the Little Mermaid statue.

Well technically I didn’t see the Little Mermaid statue as it was in Shanghai, but I did see a cool art installation by Ai Weiwei of it being live streamed that was in its place!

I also recall walking past Tivoli Gardens but didn’t have time to visit, but I’ve heard it’s really worth a visit.

@kbhsouth thank you.

Is the Tivoli a must see, possiblity of changing my time in Sweden and doing the Tivoli the day I fly home.

I am about to read the website suggested thanks.

Tivoli and the Little Mermaid were the least interesting bits of Copenhagen ime. Loved the design museum and had a memorably delicious open sandwich at Nyhaven (really exquisite, often mentioned). The palace, the covered market, a boat trip and the metro stations - all fab!

Second Statens Museum for Kunst. Tivoli Gardens, in my view, definitely not worth rescheduling for. But I'm not massively into 'Christmas decorations' either I guess.

Read up on the 'free town' Christiania - potentially worth a visit/guided tour.
Take a canal tour (netto bådene are much cheaper than the posher ones).
See if you can get a ticket to the opera - conspicuous building in the harbour, take the boat there.
Walk up Norrebrogade, the old 'workers quarters', be surprised by the zillions of people cycling and go for a walk in the Assistens cemetery - one of few green spots in NOrrebro so used for relaxation/children's sports/sunbathing in the summer. Some notable people buried there too.
Louisiana arts museum is also well worth a visit but it's about an hour or 45 mins north of Copenhagen so would kind of eat up a whole day. But if you're into arts it's a great place, check out current exhibitions.
Have a good time!

@CopenhagenOneNight Everything @Sandyhand says. Glyptoteket has a Little Dancer by Degas and lots more to see. We also visited the palace stables and the Queens Tapestries at the Christiansborg Palace. Well worth it.

We visited Tivoli in winter. I’m not a fan of theme parks, but walking round it was ace! It was like one of those Scooby Doo theme parks!
