Seychelles - best time to go

I’m looking at going to the Seychelles and every time it seems to be ‘it’s windy now’ it’s rainy, trade winds.

Is there a best time to go? We would want to move around and explore/see things. I’d like to go in August as that’s the longest school break and thought it should be cooler, but not too cold, but now I’m confused.

Or where else is outside of Europe in the summer that’s not far too hot, or monsoon? Ideas welcome beyond the usual. Thanks

I went 6 years ago in December over Christmas. It was beautiful and I got sunburnt. I would say December is ideal.

I went in June. The sea is choppy so we flew from Mahe to Praslin as were warned the ferry would be a vomit fest.

The winds mean different sides of the island are best at certain times, think there’s a guide on the Tripadvisor forum.

I’ve read April is the best time to go.
