Sun cream recommendations for Caribbean

We don't normally travel out of Europe!

Can anyone recommend a decent sunscreen - I've been warned that we will need "something stronger than you'd use in Spain". Bonus points for something that doesn't need constant reapplication and isn't outrageously expensive...and doesn't stain white clothes would be good (but I think they all do)

I have a darker complexion than DH who would burn in ten seconds. He's got spf vests to wear for swimming. Assume I'll need factor 50 but are there any that perform better than others?

The skin cancer specialist told me to only buy sun cream based on 2 things- the highest sun protection factor and to make sure it has 5 star protection. That way you get maximum protection from both UVA and UVB sun rays. Some of the expensive brands do not give 5 star protection. I buy Tesco factor 50 for sensitive skin. It's 5 star rated, water proof, rubs in well and is cheap. Used it in the Caribbean no problem at all. Enjoy your holiday.
