Disneyland ages

Would like to take my kids to disneyland some time. I have never been. My daughter is about to turn 9 and I think would still get a lot out of it. My son will be 4 next week. He is approx 100cm tall.

Ideally we would go at some stage in 2025. Is he tall enough to enjoy a few rides? None of us are massive dare devils, so don't care about big roller coasters, and would imagine we will get as much enjoyment from meeting characters, parades, fireworks etc. Just as long as we can all go on a few things together - the wee one would be devastated to be deemed "too little".

The age gap is such that we may never get a 'perfect' time to go. I would prefer to take my eldest sooner rather than later though.

So - is aged 9 and 4 as good a time as any for Disneyland?

I’m assuming you mean Disneyland in Florida, you’re going for two weeks and out of school term and you’re in the UK.

I think 4 is too young and 9 is just about old enough.

My dd loved it at 12 and wants to go back at 13, so you could definitely wait a few years to make the most of it

We've only done Disney Paris and Hong Kong, but the oldest at 12 still loves to go. We went to Hong Kong when the youngest was still 4 and he really enjoyed it. Orlando is a different beast though, it takes a whole week or longer to get round everything, so it depends if they have the stamina for day after day of queuing. I have two sets of friends who went for their 'trip of lifetime' when their respective youngests were about 6, and both sets have been back twice since, the kids just love it. One of these families the older one was 14 when they went this last summer.

Thanks all. Food for thought.

Meant disneyland Paris for a few days, as yet undecided how many.

They'll get loads out of it at that age. We've taken ours three times as little kids (oldest we've taken is 8, youngest a baby) and they were spellbound at each stage.

We've just booked for another little trip next summer and they'll be 18, 15 and 13! Still very excited!!!

Ours have been at all ages from baby onwards , always enjoyed it .

We took ours to Disneyland Paris at 3 and 5, the summer before the oldest started school, and they both loved it and they could go on plenty of the rides. The 5 year old could go on some of the bigger rides like runaway mine train and haunted mansion, but not the proper big rides. If you look on the website they should have the height restrictions for each ride. There's also the parade, the fireworks show and meeting characters, which they loved as much as rides. Neither of them remember it now though.
