Things to do around Brussels Midi station

10yo DS and I have 2 hours between trains at Brussels Midi station next Saturday morning.

Is there anything we can do near the station apart from looking at the Manneken Pis?

Gare du Midi is not in the nicest area so hop on the metro and go to the Grand Place. It's absolutely lovely there, wander around or have an overpriced drink in thr Roi d'Espagne (i like to do this !). There's a Tintin shop just off the Grand Place for DS to look around. Buy a hot waffle from a kiosk.
Or go to the Sablon, the church is gorgeous and ogle at all the choc shops and buy a pistolet (filled roll) from the Pistolet shop just near there.
Take metro or tram from Gare du Midi.

2nd getting the tram/train to Bourse or Central Station and having a wander around the Grand Place. Go for a hot chocolate in one of the art nouveau bars like Cirio or Le Falstaff. Or in the cafe on top of the Musical Instrument museum for views. Then wander back to Central via Mont des Arts. Chocolate Museum?

There a museum / fortifications at Porte de Hal which is only a few minutes on the metro. www.hallegatemuseum.be
The Galeries Royales are impressive to look at with fancy choc shops and window displays.
